Weekly forecasting is an automated process in Ameego that runs when you begin your weekly schedules. In order to schedule a new week, you must click the ‘Calculate Forecast’ button on your schedule page. By doing this, Ameego will automatically run a 3 week average forecast from your actual sales. Once this has been calculated, you can opt to change the forecast to ‘Annual Trend’. This can only be done if you have a full year of sales in Ameego. This option will average the past 4 weeks of actual sales along with the same 4 week period from the year before. Whichever method of forecasting you use, you can also make some adjustments as required.
This document focuses on weekly forecasting and adjustments. We have added a link at the bottom of this page that will take you to our ‘Daily Forecast Adjustments’ document for a more detailed look at daily forecast adjustments.
Calculating a 3 week average forecast
When you click on a new schedule week, Ameego will automatically run a 3 week average forecast. Simply click on the ‘Calculate Forecast’ button to begin.
Calculating a Annual Trend forecast
Annual Trend makes sales forecasts by comparing your sales from last year with this year. A four week average is taken over the same period from last year and this year and the difference is used to find the sales trend. This sales trend is then applied to the sales from this day last year to create the forecast.
Calculating a + / - Percent forecast
This feature will let you update full week projection by percentage. For example, you suspect that this week projection would be 5% higher than last week then you may add 5% or if you suspect less please use the negative sign in front of the number to decrease the projection.
